Use a Digital Logic Analyzer to Read SD Card Registers

This video demonstrates how to use a Digital Logic Analyzer (DLA), otherwise known as a digital oscilloscope, to read NAND Flash SD Memory Card and microSD Memory Card internal data and status registers including the Card Status Register (CSR), the Card Identification Register (CID), and the Card-Specific Data Register (CSD).

The DLA used in this video is a DreamSourceLab DSLogic U3Pr016 which features:

  1. 16 Channels (with a +- 30V input range)
  2. Up to 1 GHz sample rate
  3. Stream and buffer modes (with a 2 Gbit memory buffer)
  4. Additional Trigger and External Clock Inputs
  5. Additional Trigger Output
  6. A USB 3.0 Type-C computer connection
  7. Cross-platform sampling and decoding software that runs on Microsoft Windows, Apple macOS, and Linux.
