Network Support

IT-SD offers support for all networking devices including modems, routers, gateways, switches, wireless access points, wireless repeaters (range extenders), printer servers and network attached storage (NAS) devices. We can assist with the implementation, maintenance and repair of both wired and wireless networks.

If you need help connecting devices to the internet or a local network, contact us.

Modems – Cable, DSL, Wireless and Dial Up

You may have an issue with your modem if you are experiencing problems connecting to the internet. A modem is an electronic hardware device that assists the negotiation of internet traffic between a network location or user and their internet service provider.

If you are having trouble connecting to the internet, sending an e-mail, streaming a video, or are experiencing any other sort of network issue, contact IT-SD for a free estimate.

Routers

Issues connecting to the internet and to other network devices like printers, network attached storage, and other computers may mean you are having problems with your router or wireless router. A router is another network hardware device that helps negotiate data transmission between networks. Computers and other network devices can connect to routers both through wired ethernet patch cable and wirelessly.

If you are having trouble connecting to the internet, sending an e-mail, streaming a video, printing, viewing IP (web) cameras, or are experiencing any other sort of network issue, contact IT-SD for a free estimate.

Gateways

A gateway is a combination of two network devices: a modem and a router. Gateways are a very popular hardware solution issued by internet service providers (ISPs) to furnish residential and small business owners everything needed to connect a small network to the internet in one small device.

As with modems and routers, problems connecting to the internet and to other network devices like printers, network attached storage, and other computers may mean you are having issues with your gateway. If you are having trouble connecting to the internet, sending an e-mail, streaming a video, printing, viewing IP (web) cameras, or are experiencing any other sort of network issue, contact IT-SD for a free estimate.

Switches

Switches are another type of hardware networking device that are able to connect devices together on a network using hardwired ethernet patch cable so they can share information. Also known as switching hubs, bridging hubs, and officially as MAC bridges, switches commonly come in 4-Port, 5-Port, 8-Port, 16-Port, 32-Port, and 64-Port varieties.

As with modems, routers, and gateways, problems connecting to the internet and to other network devices like printers, network attached storage, and other computers may be due to problems with your switches. If you are having trouble connecting to the internet, sending an e-mail, streaming a video, printing, viewing IP (web) cameras, or are experiencing any other sort of network issue, contact IT-SD for a free estimate.

Wireless Access Points

Similar to switches, Wireless Access Points (WAPs) are hardware networking devices that allow other devices to connect to a network. However, they differ in the fact WAPs utilize wireless (Wi-Fi) connections while switches use wired ethernet patch cable.

As with modems, routers, gateways, and switches, problems connecting to the internet and to other network devices like printers, network attached storage, and other computers may be due to problems with your wireless access points. If you are having trouble connecting to the internet, sending an e-mail, streaming a video, printing, viewing IP (web) cameras, or are experiencing any other sort of network issue, contact IT-SD for a free estimate.

Wireless Repeaters (Range Extenders)

Wireless Repeaters (a.k.a. Wireless Range Extenders) are another type of hardware networking devices that allow other devices to connect to a network. Similar to wireless access points, Repeaters differ in that they take existing wireless wireless signals from routers and wireless access points and rebroadcast them.

As with modems, routers, gateways, switches, and wireless access points, problems connecting to the internet and to other network devices like printers, network attached storage, and other computers may be due to problems with your wireless repeaters. If you are having trouble connecting to the internet, sending an e-mail, streaming a video, printing, viewing IP (web) cameras, or are experiencing any other sort of network issue, contact IT-SD for a free estimate.

Print Servers

Print Servers are electronic devices that connect printers to computer networks and allow computers on the networks to print, scan and fax to the printers. They can be both wired and wireless, and many have connections (ports) for multiple printers.

If you have an existing printer server you are having problems with, have a printer that has no network capabilities or if the printer’s network capabilities have failed, contact IT-SD for a free estimate.

Network Attached Storage (NAS)

Network Attached Storage (NAS) are computer storage servers connected to computer networks, providing simultaneous data access to multiple clients. They typically contain more than one storage device like hard drives and solid state drives, and those drives are usually arranged into logical redundant arrays (RAID).

If you are experiencing problems connecting to your existing NAS server or if you are interested in setting one up, contact IT-SD for a free estimate.
