Malware Removal

Malware, or malicious software, refers to a variety of forms of hostile or intrusive electronic device software including viruses, Trojan horses, worms, rootkits, ransomware, spyware, adware, scareware, backdoors and other intentionally harmful programs. Malware is defined by its malicious intent, acting against the interests of the computer user; it can take the form of executable code, scripts, active content, and other software. Antivirus software and firewalls can be used to help prevent against malicious activity and to recover from attacks.

As malware attacks become more frequent, attention has begun to shift from viruses and spyware protection to malware protection and programs that have been specifically developed to combat malware. Anti-malware programs fight malware in two ways:

1
ACTIVE SCANNING: Anti-malware applications can provide active, real time protection against the installation of malware on an electronic device like a computer, tablet or smartphone. This type of malware protection works the same way as that of antivirus protection in that the anti-malware software actively scans all incoming network data for malware and blocks any threats it comes across.
2
PASSIVE SCANNING: Anti-malware programs can be used passively for detection and removal of malware software that has already been installed onto a computer. This type of anti-malware software scans the contents, operating system files and installed programs on an electronic device such as a computer, tablet or smartphone and will provide a list of any threats found, allowing the user to choose which files to delete or keep, or to compare this list to a list of known malware components, removing files that match.

Malware has associated with it many risks and dangers including data and identify theft, data loss, operating system and application malfunction and misbehavior, loss of privacy, spying and monitoring, reduction in device performance, increase on device wear and even device damage.
